Welcome to this forum!

Here we are looking for varieties on coins in Belgian numismatics. This forum acts as support for the catalog that is going to be published. Every variety, of which 3 examples are reported here, will appear in the catalog. Did you find something yourself, that isn't in the catalog yet? First check here if there isn't an example reported yet. If you don't find it, you can place your message in the appropriate category. Add a clear image (without an image, it isn't very usefull to place the message). When the image is too big, mail it to moderator 'Aernout', and he will resize it and mail it back to you, so it won't be a problem anymore to add.

We try to make this forum is trilingual, so if possible, it's always nice when placing messages, to take that into account.

To add some structure to the titles, we work according to this principle:
  Example => (1) BFM-109: 2 Francs 1867 - double 7 north

(1)    = the number of coins already reported and can be found in the overview . This will put the moderator in the title, so you don't have to do it yourself! Deviating characters => CBNU = in catalog, LIT = Only a reference to the literature, MD = machine doubling, Onderzoek = more photo proof needed for this can be in the overview, etc.
BFM-109    = reference number from the catalog (Catalogus van Belgische Numismatische Uitgiften)
:    = colon to exit the reference number
2 Francs 1867    = Coin title consists of the denomination of the currency in the language of issue (Flemish = Centiemen, Frank -- French = Centimes, Franc(s)) and the year
-    = dash to close the title
dubbele 7 noord    = short description of the variant, deviation, etc.

Do you have questions about coins that don't fit in this period?
